  1. While I understand that curiosity can often get the best of us, I think its crucial for jurors to respect the judicial process. That being said, a $250 fine seems a bit steep for simply doing some extra research. Could this perhaps discourage people from wanting to serve on a jury in the future? Thoughts?

  2. I get that the juror messed up by doing their own research, but isnt a $250 fine a bit steep? Its not like they were trying to manipulate the trial, just trying to understand better. Maybe instead of fines, there should be better education on how jurors should behave. Just a thought.

  3. While I agree that jurors shouldnt be doing their own research, isnt a $250 fine a bit excessive? I mean, arent they just trying to make an informed decision to best serve justice? Perhaps the court system needs to offer better guidance and clarify the rules for jurors.
